Virginia Beach Academy of Nails & Waxing's mission is to prepare our students for Virginia State licensing and to inspire fulfilling careers in the field of Nails & Waxing Technology.
NAIL TECHNICIAN COURSE
This 150-hour Nail Program will prepare the student for the two Virginia State licensing exams. The theory test consists of 96 questions with multiple choice answers on a computer at an area testing center.
The practical exam which tests on a rubber hand includes polishing, nail tip blending, applying acrylic with a form, removal of acrylic and lastly a blood spill procedure.
This course also teaches basic manicures, pedicures, with both regular and gel polish.
It also follows the Milady Standard Nail Technology curriculum as is used nationwide which teaches the general science of nail care, disorders, and sanitation! Sanitation! Sanitation!
Business skills, seeking employment and the salon business are also studied.
WAX TECHNICIAN COURSE
The Wax Technology Program will prepare students for their new career. This 115 hour course you will be provided the educational tools needed in order to pass the Virginia state theory and practical board exams for licensing.
This course will teach the application of hard and soft wax. Students will learn how to apply wax to the eyebrows, face, under arms and legs, along with sanitation, disease control and business readiness. This course follows the Milady curriculum.
